Early 2000s back !

I brought the early 2000s into my arms, and hold it tight.
When I temporarily deactivated my Facebook account on late 2016, I thought I might have logged in at some point in my life, but instead, I never looked back. When I was deactivating my Instagram account, I wondered if I was going to experience the same thing. But let me tell you: This one made me feel even better. I know that people love to hear good things about their bad habits, so if you still use Instagram active, my words could hit the wall and strike back. Nevertheless, this is relief. One cannot imagine how we get stuck in mud full of visuals that affects our brains more than the glance we take. I am not saying social media is full of gibberish or non-sense, I found it super useful back in time; I found my job there where the employer posted nowhere but on Instagram, and I love my job. Amen. After I logged out for good, I realized how little I contacted the people I used to due to Instagram was the prior tool to send messages, and then the moment I realized people who really would like to know how I am doing find another way to connect.
I was intending to read Stolen Focus by Johann Hari when I was still a member of this group that I would never want to be a part of again, indeed. On the other hand, I knew that I was going to be an anti-thesis of the book while I check Instagram posts during my reading. Thus, right after I deactivated my account, I started to read the book.
Lo and behold, what changed overall?
I started to hear my inner voice again.
Now, I own the time, and use it more effectively.
I have become more creative, and been using my day more productive way.
Even before I read Stolen Focus, I knew for a reason that it was not only 'I take a look at Instagram for a second, now I am back at work'. I found it difficult to re-concentrate after putting the phone away. Indeed, the research shows that each time we are distracted, it might take around 23 minutes to regain focus on what we were previously working on. I could not read three pages straight without distracting, or look at the screen, while I work, for fifteen minutes without getting bored and handing the phone.
Throughout the first week I felt that I was missing something. But it passed away. Rest in peace. If I am missing something, the subject matter of how to be more productive weighs more heavily on the scale.
Blogs have returned, so is digging into websites to obtain information I need.
This is odd but I frequently remember 2005 that I used to read books (specifically Harry Potter back in time) literally all day in my bed. No distraction. at. all. After I attended the university, I skipped this day in order to read seventh book of Harry Potter sequel, and I did not get out of bed. The day passed in the same place. I am not proud of skipping the school that day, in fact there were many days that I did not go to the campus, but the thing is, I remember that specific day for a reason. Because I was that dedicated and focused. This is something to be proud of and want to turn into. Nowadays I feel very close to this feeling. It makes me feel alive and pulling the strings.
So, let us go, apples of my eye. Here the days come.
